Chardonnay Grape VinesThis offering is for a Bundle of 10 sent to you b root via USPS Priority Mail.Chardonnay variety is a clic white wine grape grown all around the world. The original fame of Chardonnay comes from it's success in the Burgundy and Champagne regions of France. White Burgundy must be made from the Chardonnay grape unless the label indicates it was made from a much less well-known grape, Aligoté.Chardonnay also ages well in the bottle, though it will not age as long as many red wines. It likes slightly cooler climates (warm days/cool nights) and develops less acidity than Sauvignon Blanc. Some producers put their Chardonnay (or some of it) through malolactic fermentation which reduces crispness and brings out a rich, ery taste. This usually shortens the life of the wine as far as aging is concerned.Wines made from the Chardonnay grape usually served chilled. Chardonnay matches very well with chicken and with dishes that served with a lot of er or a cream sauce. Most Chardonnays lack the acid to match as well with seafood as Sauvignon Blanc or Riesling.ZONE 5bThe vines like full sun, but will tolerate partial shade. Water thoroughly when soil is dry...moderate soil moisture is preferred. Moderate to high temperatures preferred during growing season. Apply balance fertilizer in the spring and fall according to directions on label. Place next to trellis or stake to train the vine for future growth. Some who more into the commercial end of growing grapes sink posts(or iron "T"posts) in the ground every 10 feet or so and attach 2-3" arms going perpendicular to the rows of vines and attach wire at the ends of the arms and in the middle of the posts every 2' vertically for support of the vines.
